Specificities of the Digital Communications group of the OAE Department Valenciennes relate to the perfect command of digital processing techniques at the physical layer in digital communication systems. In an end-to-end approach, it is mainly on this level that the group brings its expertise in the development of innovative telecommunications systems by the IEMN, by proposing solutions to adapt to the characteristics of the propagation channel, or to improve the compromise performances/ complexity of the circuits or systems developed. Current research activities of the group are distributed along the two following principal axes:

• Communication and localization for safety in terrestrial transportation systems.
• Broadband digital communications: from theory to applications.
